Finally, another game. We had a “bye” last week, and with Valentine’s Day weekend, Super Bowl weekend, and a tournament weekend, it had been a month since we last played in this league.

Also my car is still broken down, so Jason drove me to the game.

Strange things happened from the very beginning of this game. In the second minute, Mike sent a long ball toward me. I controlled it, and the defender kicked me in the right calf. The referee did not call anything. At halftime, I calmly asked about the decision, but he got upset and told me he would not explain it. I had only asked what he saw.

We conceded both goals in the first half from free kicks. Our defense was caught sleeping. I had three shots: one went wide, and the goalkeeper saved the other two. I also set up great chances for Trent and Jason, but both missed the net.

The second half continued with more strange calls. I stole the ball from their sweeper and was running alone toward the goal when a defender grabbed my arm and held onto it. I tried to break free, which sent him flying. We both received yellow cards, but he should have been given a red since I was in a 100 percent goal-scoring situation.

A few minutes later, Trent found me in the box with a great pass. I settled the ball with my right foot and shot with my left, smashing the post. Instead of bouncing in, the ball deflected away, so no goal for me:(

Our goals came from Brian after a rebound and Trent after an individual run. We had chances, and I had quite a few, but since we failed to score more, we lost the game. The weirdness did not end there. After the match, the official website incorrectly listed the score as 3:1 instead of 3:2. Not sure why.
