Back in the Kiwanis Park again. The last time I was here was on 2024-01-01 and 2024-12-31.

Also, this was my first running race after the surgery on 2024-07-01

Note

The race organizers decided to divide the starting lineup into pace groups due to the large number of participants. The paces were listed in minutes per mile, which threw me off since I usually think in kilometers, so I opted to start in the second group. We kicked off at a fairly fast pace, around 4:10 to 4:20 per kilometer. As the race progressed, I settled into a slower, more manageable pace.

In the final kilometer, I felt like I could push a bit harder. However, I noticed a slight pressure in the area where I had previously undergone hernia surgery, so I decided to play it safe and maintained my current pace to the finish line.

I had initially aimed for a 4:40/km pace but ended up with an average of 4:28/km. It is a solid result, but still a bit far from what I was able to achieve during the New Year’s races at this same location (2023-12-31 and 2024-01-01).
