Walk in the Grand Canyon

We wanted to check out the Plateau Point Trailhead and walked a bit to the first tunnel. There, we met a lady in a ranger uniform and chatted for a while. She recommended that we continue to the second tunnel, which we did before turning back.

Poznámka

Interesting facts:

• The Bright Angel Trail is currently extended near Plateau Point due to major reconstruction of water pipes from the North Rim to the South Rim. It looked ugly, wide as a highway.
• Large forest fires were burning on the North Rim, visible right in front of us. Helicopters were flying back and forth, taking water from the Colorado River to fight the fires.
• No Garmin activity was recorded, as this was an unplanned walk.
