Wednesday evening pickup game (4:3)

The game was supposed to be at 8 PM at Reata, but when we arrived there,e the lights were off. The park maintainer told us there was lightning and that if there were none by 8:30 PM, he would open the field and let us play. But it was not even raining!

There was one single lightning strike at a great distance, so we understood we were not going to play there. Some guys reported that the baseball field at McDowell Mountains has lights on and no one is there. So we went there, but the gate was locked. Someone found an entrance on the other side, so we drove around and finally reached the field.

Injury: left heel blister on the right side (played in black Mercurial Vapors)

There were a lot of black and colored teams, so I assigned myself to the white team. Considering it was a bit rainy today, many players still showed up. It was like 13 on 13.

We played small goals. Our team was doing much better, and I personally had a lot of shots and chances. Some of those were after really nice combinations, but I did not score. We got a goal instead from their occasional counterattack.

When it was 1:2, I finally managed to score to tie the game. I shot from the angle, and it was so strong that I literally smashed the whole goal. They had to rebuild it. Then we scored another goal and were winning 3:2, but they managed to tie the game 3:3. We played for the winning goal, and I had two good shots, but the goalie deflected them. We finally won the game with a somewhat lucky goal, and exactly at 10 PM the lights went off.
